DRINK UP

CALVADOS BAR

Calvados is an apple brandy from the French region of the Northwest (Basse-Normandie). Bartenders from the Barclay Bar in New York City will be serving up Calvados tasting and carefully crafted Calvados cocktails.

The Barclay Bar at the InterContinental New York Barclay was recently honored as the “First Calvados Bar” in the United States by France’s Association for Cider Appellations (IDAC, Interprofession des Appellations Cidricoles). Hip hip hip!

ABSINTHE BAR

If you love to drink good quality absinthe you have Viridian Spirits to thank. Viridian Spirits is the company that has brought the first truly authentic absinthe to the States since its banning in 1912. Expect nothing but the best from their absinthe selection as you experience the real “la fée verte” (the green fairy)

PASTIS BAR

The Pastis Bar is brought to you by the great Pernod-Ricard. For those of you who aren’t familiar with pastis, you’ve been missing out! Pastis is a delicious anise-flavored liqueur from France’s Southeast region (Provence-Côte d’Azur.) Pastis is usually drunk as an apéritif, especially enjoyed during a game of Petanque.

LA MAISON DU VIN

At La Maison du Vin, our sommeliers and wine experts will guide you through a comprehensive tasting of regional French wines.

MUSIC

French music star and now Brooklyn’s own, Emilie Simon, will regale the audience with a medley of Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel along with her critically acclaimed original songs.

Be transported to a small café in Paris as accordionists playing a collection of France’s most celebrated classics walk amongst you in the alleys of the event.

PETANQUE

Pick up a boule and your glass of pastis (no one in France would dare play without a cold glass of pastis in their hand) and take part in casual Pétanque games with friends and even participating Chefs. For beginners, one of the continent’s most seasoned Pétanque veterans will act as referee and provide you with tips and tricks for the classic French game.

FRENCH MARKET

Stroll through the market of French artisans selling a collection of French art, food, and other goods that you’d be hard pressed to find in stores anywhere else in the States.
